Stewardship Commitment Sunday
What a special celebration day for our church on Stewardship Commitment Sunday, November 18! Members came forward to place their pledge cards on the altar, and after the service we gathered in Geneva Hall for fellowship, inspiring music and delicious food. If you were unable to join us, we missed you.
First Presbyterian Church is counting on our blessings and still has several ways for you to add your pledge to our community's overall stewardship commitment. You can mail your pledge card to the church in the return envelope enclosed in the stewardship brochure; your pledge card can be put in the offering plate during worship; or you can drop your pledge card by the church office anytime you happen to be downtown. Extra pledge cards are available in the pews and in the glass office. We want to remind you that one of our goals is to increase the number of individuals and families who choose to pledge. You might ask, "Why is pledging necessary?" The answer is both practical and powerful. Pledging allows the church to budget for expenses, carry out programs, maintain outreach activities and help those in need. That is the practical side of pledging. The powerful blessings of pledging are that it strengthens our faith, increases our awareness of others’ needs, and enables us to experience the joy of sharing with others in Christ. Remember! Our local community and the world around us are counting on our blessings. Every pledge counts. Every gift is important. Your pledge is needed. |
