Stewardship at First Presbyterian Church

Family program blessings

Have you noticed how we seem to have more and more new families at our worship services? Each Sunday, both young and old eagerly look forward to our Children's Moment, which can be both educational and humorous. When the children and teachers leave the sanctuary, they gather upstairs in the Whitman Room for songs and a prayer. Then faithful teachers offer Christian education based on the multiple intelligences model of learning, teaching through stories, games, computers, music, cooking, drama and science. (Did you realize that there are more than 30 teachers we call upon in the "teacher pool"?) Sunday nights are the time when God's love and guidance is provided to our mid-high and senior high students. Throughout the year, special activities involving our children and youth include: Wednesday Feasts, Mardi Gras Dinner, Vacation Bible School, Advent Play, All-Nighters, City Camp, and Mini Camp at Menucha. Our children and youth ministries provide a foundation for a lifelong journey of faith. The youngest in our fold are counting on our blessings. Let's set the example of giving for our children and youth. Prayerfully consider pledging in 2008 if you don't already do so, or increasing your pledge in order to continue funding these ministries which are so important to the future of our church.
