These monotypes were created by youth in a class offered by FPC member and artist, Bob
Lucas. Monotype is a print making technique also referred to as painterly print making.
Acrylic plates and oil based printing inks were used. Ink was rolled onto the plates to
make a black field.
The youth then worked in a reductive manner, removing the
ink, to create their design. Paper was placed over the finished design, and by rubbing a
flat instrument across the paper the work was transferred to the paper. |
