FPC member and artist, Lynn Blum, along with the Christian Fine Art Association of Denver worked with senior high mission trip participants to create these monotypes.
The students created their works on acrylic plates. Some designs were painted with water colors and others were drawn using caran d'ache. With the help of two volunteer printers, the finished pieces were run through a press, transferring the designs onto paper.

These monotypes were created by youth in a class offered by FPC member and artist, Bob Lucas. Monotype is a print making technique also referred to as painterly print making. Acrylic plates and oil based printing inks were used. Ink was rolled onto the plates to make a black field.
The youth then worked in a reductive manner, removing the ink, to create their design. Paper was placed over the finished design, and by rubbing a flat instrument across the paper the work was transferred to the paper.
