Sandra Bowden exhibit
The current exhibit in the Chapel Hall gallery is Illuminated Inscriptions by Sandra Bowden. Ms. Bowden derives inspiration and incorporates images and artifacts from archeological references, segments of language and text, inscribed artifacts, timeworn pages from antique Bibles, and intriguing musical scores and facsimiles. To further demonstrate the preciousness of the images and words, she embellishes the pieces with silver and gold leaf. Ms. Bowden is the founding chairperson of CIVA (Christians in the Visual Arts), an interdenominational organization of artists and churches, of which First Presbyterian Church is a member. The exhibit may be viewed between 9:00 am to 12:00 Noon on Sundays (closed during service) and during the week by appointment, through May 30, 2004. Pieces are for sale.
