Stuber/Price Piano Duo, April 30
Pianists Jon Stuber and Patricia Price will present a recital of works for one piano, four hands on Sunday, April 30, at 3 p.m. in the Sanctuary as part of the Celebration Works recital series here at First Presbyterian.
Playing on the Sanctuary's unique mahogany Steinway 9-foot grand piano, Stuber and Price will play the charming cycle of Liebeslieder Waltzes, Op. 52, by Johannes Brahms as originally written for duo pianists and a quartet of singers. The singers will be the Chancel Choir section leaders: soprano Anita Lundgren, alto Kristen Buhler, tenor Daniel Burnett and bass Ben Kinkley. Stuber and Price also will perform Three Sonatinas by Johann Anton André and three sets of dances, Three English Dances by Roger Quilter, Spanish Dances by Moritz Moszkowski, and Slavonic Dances by Antonín Dvorák. They plan a rousing close to the program: an arrangement of The Stars and Stripes Forever! by John Philip Sousa. |
