Dan Jaeckel was chosen to build the new instrument after six months of intensive search by the organ committee. Some 75 builders were considered and some or all committee members visited organs across the country (Oregon, Washington, California, New Mexico, Utah, Minnesota, Virginia, Washington DC).

The qualities sought were:
   1. an instrument of great tonal beauty to inspire singing
   2. great visual beauty to match the historic architecture
   3. comprehensive instrument of highest craftsmanship
   4. delivery in less than five years

We have truly enjoyed working with Dan on this great project.
