Blessing of the Festival
Royal Rosarian Prime Minister Tom Wright and First Lady Carol would like to invite you to the Blessing of the Festival event here at FPC on Sunday, April 24, at 2:30 p.m. This event, sponsored by the Royal Rosarians with joint participation by the Rose Festival Association, the Portland Rose Society and the Navy League, offers a memorial tribute for members of these four organizations who have passed away since the last such ceremony and asks for a blessing on the upcoming Portland Rose Festival. The event also features the first official public presentation of the Rose Festival Court. Our Chancel and Handbell Choirs will provide beautiful music for the service, and Dudley Weaver will offer the message and blessing. The event will be held in the Sanctuary. A special Rose Dedication and social reception will follow in Geneva Hall. Come and share in this event with us, meet the Rose Festival court and Rose Festival Officials, Rose Society President and Navy League Representatives. Parking is available in the Morrison Plaza lot for this event.
