At 8 p.m. on Saturday, January 29, the Celebration Works concert series will present a gala evening of music featuring the Belle Voci Women's Vocal Ensemble with director Margaret Green, the Vivo Choir from the Oregon Repertory Singers Youth Choir Program with their director Kris Van Auken, the Select Treble Ensemble from Rowe Middle School with their director Cinda Reeves-Snyder, and the Women's Ensemble from Heritage High School in Vancouver, with their director Joel Karn. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for seniors and students and may be purchased on Sundays after worship at the ticket booth in Geneva Hall or at the door the evening of the concert.
All of the ensembles will spend the day together in a multi-generational music-making workshop. The special guest conductor for the workshop and concert is Rebecca Rottsolk, internationally known for her work with the Northwest Girlchoir Program in Seattle. The concert will feature selections by each choir and then three pieces with all participants in a mass choir. The mass choir will perform "America the Beautiful," "A Song for Peace," and "Hope for Resolution," a piece inspired by the melody of "Of the Father's Love Begotten" and African singing. The performers range from 6th grade through adult. Belle Voci Women's Vocal Ensemble and the Celebration Works series at First Presbyterian Church are sponsoring the workshop and concert.
